It’s clear that the 2020 update to Photoshop is the most comprehensive update in recent memory. And while there will inevitably be a learning curve—most people aren’t going to be able to immediately grasp all the new features—I’m thrilled to see Adobe’s dedication to this important platform. After all, the company has remained committed to Photoshop. I suppose that’s one of the main reasons that customers still choose it over its rival, Lightroom.
The always-popular darkroom still does a good job of cleaning up flagrant mistakes. It also has new tools for adjusting the color of just the alpha channel. The new alpha mask feature was popular in Lightroom, and now it’s here in Photoshop. Other welcome additions to the new version include geotagging options and templates, and retouching tools for the iPad Pro. I really like the new option to add a diverse range of text to a Photoshop document or web design.
